Vocational
Textile design involves a complete vision of development of new design aspects for novelty in fabric surface, textile products and various other textile materials. It includes designing of fabric used in clothing, house hold textiles, decorative textiles and others. It involves design intervention along with the development of the final product within the technical specification and right commercial value. However textile printing is the process of applying color to fabric in definite patterns or designs. In properly printed fabrics the color is bonded with the fiber, so as to resist washing and friction. Textile printing is related to dyeing but in dyeing properly the whole fabric is uniformly covered with one color, whereas in printing one or more colors are applied to it in certain parts only, and in sharply defined patterns.
This Second Edition of ‘Textile Design, Dyeing and Printing’ will provide an overview of Textile Design, dyeing and printing, and Textile Industry. The overall objective of this edition is to understand the basics of design in relation with textiles, textile design and related terminology and the overall work pattern of textile industry.
