Rubber Production: Intermediate combines many different practical and visual skills with knowledge of specialized materials and techniques. Natural rubber, as initially produced, consists of polymers of the organic compound isoprene, with minor impurities of other organic compounds plus water. Natural rubber is used by many manufacturing companies for the production of rubber products. Currently, rubber is harvested mainly in the form of the latex from certain trees. The latex is a sticky, milky colloid drawn off by making incisions into the bark and collecting the fluid in vessels in a process called “tapping”. Natural rubber is used extensively in many applications and products, either alone or in combination with other materials. This book will introduce the knowledge and skills for those studying and/or working in rubber industry.
About the Book
The information in this book consists of competencies that a person must achieve to establish rubber budwood and seedlings nursery, plant rubber trees/rubber seedlings, perform budding operation and harvest latex.
About the Rubber Production Industry
Rubber production is big business because of the extremely wide range of applications for the substance in its many forms. Chloroprene rubber is used in a variety of automotive and electrical parts, adhesives, and more. It is also used in automotive tires, and increasing production capacity of both Asian and Latin American manufacturers of this core product are fueling its growth. Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compounds are growing to dominance in the rubber industry as well, and replacing more traditional synthetic chloroprene products due to lower production costs and a wider range of uses. TPE is made into products for industries as diverse as construction, aerospace, and forestry. The natural rubber industry relies on rubber trees that can live for about 32 years each, with 25 years of useful rubber production. Most latex rubber is produced in the nations of Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. As a commercially important polymer, Rubber is used broadly in automobiles, as well as to produce different end products such as toys, garments, footwear, stationeries, accessories such as bands, automobile parts for ease compression, washers, shock absorbers, hose, cables and wires, rubber covered rollers, rubber lining of chemical plants, ant vibration mountings and other such items. Rubber products are in great demand due to its resistance and benefits. One of the most significant uses of rubber is its application in the manufacturing of tyres used in different types of vehicles ranging from aero planes to bicycles. Furthermore rubber is used in the interior and exteriors of car decoration, and in a wide range of applications. Rubber industry has been growing in along with the strength and importance, as imparting a role in the global economy. An individual can have a good prospects in rubber production such as Budder, Tapper, Nursery caretaker, Rubber plantation worker, Rubber Farmer industry.
